First of all I will say Hello to every member and guest on this site.
Second, I will introduce my self.
My name is Panagiotis Kosmidis where Panagiotis stands for first and Kosmidis for last.
I come from
Greek Pontos and I am a
Pontic Greek so are both of my parents and ancestors. After the
Greek Genocide by
Turkey my ancestors migrated to the
former Soviet Union (USSR). I born in
Aktyubinsk (now known as Aktobe) of
Kazakhstan and I came back to my homeland (
Greece) when
USSR fall and the borders opened so people could leave the country.
I came to
Athens (Greece) on 1992 at the age of 5 where hard living started for me and my family as we started all from zero, we left everything back in Russia like many other people did for surviving. Recently I moved at
Thessaloniki (also called as Salonica) city here in Greece.
People here in Greece are all individually different, you cannot group them, so there where nice people but there where also the bad people who made my childishly ages a nightmare. So I decided to learn
martial arts for self defense from the age of five. I started with
Tae Kwon Do, then I continued with
Boxing then
Kick Boxing &
Muay Thai and now I'm training into
MMA &
BJJ.
In the mean while in school I was the worst student on computer lessons but i didn't care about it because my passion was into martial arts. I remember a day when the professor asked me what MB means and I think about it for a couple of minutes and I replied to him "well I don't really know what these initials means but I guess ti means Mega Boobs ?" and everyone lough with me and from that part and after my selfishness took over me and I put a goal to my self to be the best in computer lessons in my class. I will not go for more details on it, the only thing that I will say is that the goal evolved into bigger goal and then into a bigger and etc. Now I'm a professor on private Institute here in Greece called
Private Educational Institute Delta and I'm working as a freelancer where my next goal is to create my LLC company here in Greece.
Thats enough for the "about me" and I will explain the reason that I donated this site to
Alexander.
I'm a
PHP developer and also I'm developing on
Zend Framework.
Because of the limited time I got I was working with
Zend Framework 1.6 where
Zend_Navigation did not exist.
This summer I found some free time for me to create a CMS for my business and not relay on any open source projects like
Joomla,
Wordpress and
etc.
I tried to find an example on how to use Zend_Navigation because the
manual does not explains it very well so I came up on
Alexanders tutorial and then I followed his sessions and I like his work and his passion on doing tutorials so well explained and keeping a proper order.
Then I seen
his blog which was extremely unusable and not user friendly at all and I decided to donate a web site for him based on Joomla. From my experience on Joomla it took me a couple of days to create it and now we go.
I believe that knowledge must be free but I also know that you cannot always do it for free when you have no support from anyone so by doing this site we ensure that the tutorials will remain free for everyone and I will help him too with some tutorials that I will create so the site would become for real "The webs best tutorials!"
Thats from me, I hope you will enjoy the site and Alexander's tutorials and soon (i hope) mine's too.
Some details about my name:
Greek name Panagiotis, sometimes transliterated as Panayiotis, (
Greek: Παναγιώτης) is a common male Greek name deriving from the epithet
Panagia ("all-holy")
[1], which is one of the titles of
Mary, the mother of Jesus in
Orthodox Christianity. Diminutive forms of the name are Panagis (Παναγής), Panos (Πάνος) and Takis (Τάκης). The female form of the name is Panagiota (Παναγιώτα).
So thats where my nick name come from, I took the diminutive form of my name Panos (this is like most of people call me) and I placed a "ru" at the end so it become "panosru" where the ru stands for Russia. Even if I'm 100% Greek I born in Russia and I love russian culture I also try to speak Russian when I have the opportunity to do it, to not forget the language.
