Hello Alex,

First of all thanks for your great videos. I would like to suggest to you about making a DVD with your tutorials in it and available for purchase or download. Would you be up for this? I would be happy to pay you something with say, paypal, in order to get your videos available on other way than just youtube.

What do you say?

Never even crossed my mind to put these on a DVD. Mostly because i am not all that happy with the overall quality (the way i speak and the video).

This is definitely going to take extra time which I will have during the holiday season
I will surely look into this. However, if i am going to go as far as DVD, I must redo my first 3 (or so) videos because the quality there is unacceptable (I was still experimenting with encodings).

Next question involves method of shipping. What would be the best way for me to send it so it arrives in timely manner (or arrive at all) because regular post office here in Bahamas is unreliable and I've had many mis-haps with them, plus for long distances it can take months. Fedex is too expensive (although that depends on destination: one to russia, for example, costs $87 if delivered by December 11)

As for direct downloads, i did already get a number of requests for that but each video is between 130-170 Mb. Even if this does not go over my monthly limit of 256000Mb too soon, direct downloads go against my host's agreement. I do not really want to switch my host but if I consider it, the bandwidth cost will be too high for me. In order to sustain downloads, the site will run solemnly on donations which goes against my original goal to let the community enjoy the content at minimum to no cost. Hosting on file sharing sites like rapidhsare or megaupload is very unappealing to me.

Ideas????

If the mail is not available then the only joice would be direct download. YouTube would be fine otherwise, but it won't allow me to go htrough your lessons while on a way to work on a bus or my ipod touch while walking the dog or other situations where internet is not available.

I really appreciate your effort to offer something to community. I have done many similar efforts for fellow photographers and I get enormous enjoyment of knowing I can give something positive to someone. So in your situation really the only option is to offer the videos for free in rapidshare or torrent service. I would prefer torrent

I live in Finland. If you want, you can send me a DVD and we'll see how long it takes to arrive to Scandinavia. But DVD's are not good when it comes to updates or new lessons. With torrents or other download method, users can download what they need, including new lessons.

Why don't you create a nice website with ZF that has the catalog of the lessons you have and then link to rapidshare for download?

I am such a fool .
I completely forgot that bip.tv provides a direct download links to all content. I just remembered that after all this time using it . Is flv download going to be OK since I upload everything in flv and not avi because time taken for them to convert to flv is longer than free account is allowing.
